SlideShare Contest

In two weeks, I'm giving a presentation to my team on the difference between value buyers and commodity buyers, how to differentiate between the two and how to use one versus the other as qualifying conditions in the sales cycle. Socialtext offers one of the more expensive solutions in the business social network space. We don't hide from that, but it makes a big difference in the questions that we ask and how we position ourselves. There are BMW buyers and there are Hyundai buyers. Both essentially do the same thing, but the delta in cost between baseline models is 3x. I've never purchased a Hyundai before. I have purchased a BMW and the service and support associated with the purchase was impeccable. Today, I noticed on Guy Kawasaki's blog that he is the judge in a SlideShare contest for the 'Worlds Best Presentation'. I've always been a big fan of the way that people like Guy, Seth Godin and Tim Sanders present and in my presentation, I'm going to try to incorporate as much as I have learned from these guys and others as I can. I'll certainly be entering my presentation into the contest. For those interested, this is one of the winning entries from last year.
