I Owe Dave McClure a Beer

I am never going to get rich selling tshirts.  I learned that when I tried to sell 'I've Got a Herd On' boxer shorts at Marshall.   That was never the goal anyway.  When I created the GEvil tshirt design, all I wanted to do was make something fun for the Yahoo Mail team, learn to use Photoshop and learn more about buying sponsored search.  Fortunately, a few internet & technology blogebrities found the CafePress site and I ended up selling a few shirts.  Yeah, beer money!!! Then one day someone sent me a picture of Sergey Brin with Dave McClure of SimplyHired, who of course, was wearing a GEvil tshirt.  The picture immediately became my messenger display image and I showed it to anyone who would listen to me for more then 2 seconds.

Dave's picture started to make the rounds and he made my shirt kind of famous.  It helped quite a bit that Google released some more evil between when I made the shirt and now (Google Desktop 2.0, the Chinese censorship, GDrive, etc.).  Now, I understand that Michael Arrington has ordered a shirt! So I am stoked.  I wouldn't exactly say that sales are going gangbusters.  This isn't MGB part money or even golf money.  I'd like to picture a world with more people wearing GEvil tshirts then wear white earphones but for now, I'll stick with beer money, which I can always use.   I'd love to share some of my beer money with Dave.  Thank you for making GEvil so popular.
